Do you have a newer Ford or Dodge Heavy Duty truck with contact overload springs? Have you noticed that your truck is not actually using the overloads? Most of these trucks have clearance between the factory installed contact pads and the loverload spring, even with heavy loads in the truck bed. This means the softer, extra long main leaf stack these newer trucks have for better ride quality is carrying all the weight. Does your truck rock & roll from side-side when you haul a top heavy load like a slide in truck camper? In most cases he factory overloads are doing nothing to help carry the weight and stabilize the load. If you've added air helper springs such as Firestone Ride-Rite or Air Lift to the truck the situation may be even worse. On most of these trucks the air bags are mounted inboard of the truck frame so they really can't help control body roll, they just pick the truck up higher off the factory overloads.
